REVVIE'S APRIL FOOL

CHILDREN have always loved to hide Easter eggs, and we children were no different from others. We hid our eggs in the places that we thought would be hardest to find.

But one spring there were no eggs to hide. The hens had evi gone on strike. We were sadly disappointed. That year Easter fell on April Fool Day. On Easter morning Revvie said brightly, "Come on, Need. Go with me to get my Easter eggs." I could hardly believe he had any, so questioned him. He in he had them hidden up on the hill, in the woods. He told me to get a pan to carry them home in. So like a faithful dog, I followed my brother up the hill arid into the woods. The hill was steep, but we trudged on. My legs got tired; the pan grew heavy, but still Revvie told me it was farther on. After leading me up that hilly path and into the woods, a quarter mile or so, Revvie exclaimed, "April Fool!" After all there were no eggs! I almost cried with weariness and disappointment, but he thought it a huge joke.
