RUMMAGE SALE – The Firehouse Sale started out as a rummage sale, and that’s still the main event. Donations pour in from the community — clothes, books, kitchen items, home decor, toys, furniture, sporting goods, tools and automotive, garden stuff, and much, much more. Something for everyone, at prices that can’t be beat!
FOOD BOOTH — Great food and refreshments round out the shopping experience. Myrin Bentz’s famous bratwurst gets top billing, as usual. Hot dogs and veggie dogs are alternatives, along with baked beans and hot corn on the cob. In addition, there are plenty of homemade cookies, cakes, pies, cinnamon rolls and other goodies, soft drinks, coffee, etc.
SILENT AUCTION — Put in a bid on nicer items and services donated by local businesses and individuals. Winners take home treasures, and the price is right! A “Buy It Now” board offers donated items or services for instant purchase at a discount. We couldn’t do this without the amazing generosity and support of people and businesses in High Prairie and all the surrounding areas. Thank you!
QUILT RAFFLE — The High Prairie Needlers continue to amaze us each year with their handiwork in their beautiful quilt. They start early in January to create the prize winner. This year it’s a queen-size quilt called HIGH PRAIRIE SUNFLOWER. Tickets are $2 apiece, 3 tickets for $5, 7 tickets for $10, or 15 tickets for $20. The Quilt Raffle drawing will be held on Sunday, June 25, at 12:00 p.m. You don’t need to be there at drawing time to win.
SPORTSMAN’S & RIFLE RAFFLE — Last year’s popular drawing is happening again.
Tickets are $10 each or 3 for $25. Only 500 tickets will be sold. Buy tickets at select retailers, by calling Sharon Aleckson at 509-365-4429, or at the Firehouse Sale. Drawing will be held at the Firehouse Sale on Sunday, June 25, at 12:30 p.m.

PERSONAL YARD SALE SPACES – This year we’re renting out spaces for individuals to bring their own booth or pickup and have their own mini-yard sale within the big sale. Tables are available for rent, too. For more information call Tamera Woodruff at 360-241-3537.
EXPANDED SHOW & SHINE CAR EVENT — On Saturday morning, bring your collectible car or great old vehicle to the Community Center to show it off, swap stories, and provide information. It’s a fun and relaxed addition to the goings-on at the Firehouse Sale. Set-up starts at 7:30 a.m. and goes until everyone’s through gawking and talking. Call Ward Cockeram at 509-365-9564 for more information.
FUN FOR KIDS – On Saturday, Fire District 14 brings one of their fire trucks for kids and adults alike to admire. The popular “burning building” game gives kids a chance to try operating a real fire hose. We’ll have face painting, too!
MUCH MORE! — There’s so much more, we can’t possibly detail all the great things about the Firehouse Sale. You’ll have to see for yourself. Come make it the best one ever!
