Over the first three months of 2020, the High Prairie Fire District #14 Board of Commissioners, the High Prairie Community Council Board of Directors, and members of the High Prairie community met several times and developed a new HPFD/HPCC Joint Operating Agreement. The original (2009) HPFD/HPCC operating agreement had become inadequate within a short time of its signing, so a major overhaul of their working agreement was overdue.
This new Joint Operating Agreement makes official the HPCC’s appointment as manager/operator of the community center, defines requirements and areas of responsibility, and sets up procedures for the two organizations to work together. It reflects both the increased complexity of the role HPCC is now playing and the cooperative relationship that has developed between the HPCC and the HPFD over the last several years.
