Fort Vancouver Regional Library Goldendale Activities

Terra McLeod

FVRL is celebrating 75 years this year with a number of programs across the district. This summer, join the Passport Program and take the opportunity to visit other libraries, and a Bookmobile, in our library district and use an Experience Pass while you’re in the area.

If you can’t get away, our bi-monthly booklet will offer hints for the trivia questions in the Passport. Log your travel progress online, or ask staff to help you. If you complete the Passport by December 1, you’ll be entered into a drawing for a grand prize!

Summer Reading is also upon us, bringing a number of presenters and programs to the Goldendale Library. Highlights include:

• Origami Toys, July 11, 11:00am

• Mid-Summer Reading Party & Rocket Blast Off, July 16, 2:30pm

• Music & Dance with Danza Azteca Huitzilopochtli / Música y danza con Danza Azteca Huitzilopochtli, July 22, 3:00pm

• Ice Cream Social & 75th Anniversary celebration is on August 7, 5:00pm.

• Kids & Tweens Create, August 8, 3:00pm

• End of Summer at Your Library Party with Planet Tea Lights, August 13, 2:30pm

The Friends of the Goldendale Library is hosting a Miniature Golf at the Library Fundraiser, by donation, on August 2, 7:00pm, and August 3, 1:00pm. This is an after-hours event at the Goldendale Community Library. Register online, or call the Goldendale Library.

The library district is in the process of creating a new Strategic Plan and would like to hear from you. Please take a few moments to complete the community survey, found here: https://www.fvrl.org/strategic-priorities.

There will be a listening session open to the public on July 10, 4:00-6:00pm at the Goldendale Library.

Lastly, FVRL will be on the August 5 ballot for a Levy Lid Lift, a funding measure that shapes what open hours and services are delivered in the years to come. Information can be found here: https://www.fvrl.org/levy

We hope to see you at the library or on the Klickitat County Bookmobile this summer! If you would like a stop near you, email Terra at tmcleod@fvrl.org. And for those who are looking for a new summer read, check out our list of new and recently ordered titles in our catalog (click the home button, then the New option).
